Obituary: NIEHENKE- Esther Ruth (Atkins), 71, of Ebensburg, passed away June 6, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 14, 1939 in Fredericksburg, VA., daughter of the late Lesley B. and Pearl (Wagner) Atkins. Preceded in death by husband, Eugene Niehenke and infant brother, Lesley. Survived by brother, Harry and wife Ann Atkins; nieces, Rebecca Mosebrucker and Charity Shettle; and nephew, Terry Atkins. Also survived by step daughters, Emma Sesock, Ethel Black; and step sons Kennard, Russell and Paul; several step grandchildren and special step granddaughter, Rita; great nieces Sarah, Angelica and Amelia; great nephews, Brandon and Philip; and many, many friends. Esther loved her church family at The Ebensburg Evangelical Bible Church of Revloc, who were very special to her. Family and friends are saddened of Esther’s passing but are comforted in knowing that she is now free from pain and at rest with her Heavenly Father. Friends will be received from 11am until time of funeral service at 1pm on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Marvin E. Lowery, officiating.
