Obituary: FALCHINI– Evelyn (Domenick), 81, Ebensburg, passed away peacefully at home June 4, 2010. Born Jan. 17, 1929, in Colver, daughter of Frank and Caroline (Conigy) Domenick. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Francis Sr., whom she married May 17, 1952; sisters, Mary Hawksworth and Frances Romani; brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law, John Hawksworth, Luigi Falchini and Martin and Caroline Farabaugh. Survived by sons, Carlo III, and wife, Debra, and Francis Jr., and wife, Mary Beth; daughter, Judette, and friend, Joe Grosholz; grandchildren, Nicole, and husband, Chris Oravec; Kara, and husband, Ben Illig; Michael Falchini and Devon Falchini; great-grandchildren, Eli Illig and Isaac Oravec; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John Romani, Carlo Jr. and Francine Falchini; aunt and uncle, Kate and Len Conigy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Owner of C&J Falchini with her beloved late husband, Frank. As a young woman, she worked with her family at Home Baking Co. in Ebensburg. Lifelong member of Holy Name Parish. Evelyn had a loving friendship with Sister Anna Marie of the Sisters of St. Ann; her Southern Care nurse, Cindy, and aide, Kathi “Patty Cakes;” Pastor Adam; and her night aides, Joan and Thelma. She was known for sharing her St. Benedict medals with those who needed help. Our “Mamie’s” life centered around her loyalty to and love for her family. Her unwavering faith, strong work ethic and concern for others made her a role model to those who knew and loved her. At Evelyn’s request, there will be no viewing, visitation or flowers. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, at Holy Name Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday in the church narthex. Interment, Holy Name Cemetery. Donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Carmelite Nuns of Loretto, P.O. Box 57, Loretto, Pa. 15940.
