Obituary: LONERGAN – Dorothy (Simmers), 80, Nanty Glo, died peacefully June 13, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 4, 1930, in Nanty Glo, daughter of James and Susie (Grant) Simmers. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters, James, Mary McDonald, Alice Cunningham, Helen Smith, Mamie Boring, Clara Smith and Joseph, and infant sister, Margaret. Survived by husband, Paul J. Lonergan, Nanty Glo; daughter, Deborah, wife of James Pollino, Ebensburg; grandchildren, David James, Rebecca Lynne and Daniel Paul Pollino, all of Ebensburg; brother, Robert Simmers, and wife, Ida, Nanty Glo; sister, Mildred Bellish, Trenton, N.J.; and sisters-in-law, Vivian Simmers, Erie, and Mary Lou Sadler, Catonsville, Md. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Paul and Dorothy would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2010. Dorothy will be forever remembered for the kindness and love she gave others, especially her family. She was a model of patience and strength to all who knew her. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be recited Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment to follow in Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nanty Glo Public Library, Nanty Glo Ambulance Association or Cresson Lake Playhouse.
