Obituary: BORING - Pearl D. (Brewer), 94 of Ebensburg, formerly of Tanneryville, Johnstown, died June 20, 2010 at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born June 3, 1916 in Richland Twp., daughter of the late Edwin A. and Nettie Mae (Yoder) Brewer. Preceded in death by husband the Rev. James Clayton Boring, daughter Donna Eckley, sisters: Betty Miller, Ethel Evans, Joyce Kapcsos, Edna Brewer and Verna Herrick and brothers: Roy, Hyle, and Clarence Brewer. Survived by son James, married to Cheryl Miller, Mt. Wolf, Pa.; Judie, wife of Ross Dixon Sr., Ebensburg, and Dean C., married to Frances Burton, Richland, son-in-law Leonard Eckley, Anchorage, Alaska; 29 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Sister of Floyd Brewer, Stoystown and Donald Brewer, Cleveland, Ohio. Retired, Pearl had been employed for 21 years as a LPN at the former Lee Hospital, and along with her late husband, had ministered to the Chickoree Union Church for 18 years and the Island Community Church for 10 years. Member of Ebensburg First Christian Church and the Ebensburg Senior Citizens. Pearl loved to do crafts. Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m., the Rev. Dr. Frank Brosius, officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown.
