Obituary: TOTIN – Mary, 91, Church of the Brethren Home, Windber and formerly of Vintondale, passed away June 26, 2010 at Windber Hospice. Born May 25, 1919 in Vintondale, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Kepich) Totin. Preceeded in death by sister, Anna (Totin) Garvis; brothers, Mike and James, and infant brothers John and Andrew. Survived by nephews and nieces: Bob Garvis, Vintondale; Edward (Barbara) Garvis, Bedford; Elizabeth (William) Sulosky, Windber; George (Jean) Garvis, Calabash, North Carolina; Dorothy (Raul) Gonzalez, Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and Michael (Priscilla) Totin, Williamsport. Also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews and close and caring friends Rick & Annamarie Marsh, Johnstown. A lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Vintondale, where she had been active in the Altar Club. Friends will be received from 4 - 8 pm Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a panachida will be sung at 5:00 p.m., Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Fr. Gregori Tsunami, officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Church of the Brethren Home Activity Fund, Windber or to her church.
