Obituary: SEBETICH – Anthony “Seb”, 46, of Ebensburg and formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away peacefully July 14, 2010 at the home of his parents in Nanty Glo. Born September 28, 1963 in Johnstown, son of Marty and Mell Anne (Krawetz) Sebetich. Preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents and nephew Matthew Proctor. Survived by parents, of Nanty Glo; brothers: Timothy (Heather) Sebetich, Ohio; Dennis (Roseanna), Johnstown; and Joseph (Tammy) of Virginia. Also nieces and nephews: Jacob, Declan, Quinn, Channing, Santa Maria, Dennis Martin, Mandi, Troy, and Sarah; grand nieces Deja, Kaylynn and Mariah; Uncle, Michael J. Sebetich; Aunt Linda (Edwards) Sebetich; cousins: Lisa (Lutz) and Lora(Mark); and special friend Lynne Valyo and her children, Ashley, Bridget, and Madison of Ebensburg; Member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church and the Nanty Glo Knights of Columbus. Former Assistant Chief for Ebensburg Borough Police Department. Member of Dauntless Fire Company, where he served as retired Deputy Fire Chief, fire instructor and on numerous committees. Member of Cambria County, Central District and Western Area Fireman's Associations. Former dispatcher for the Mainline Police Association. Former member of the Jackson Twp. Vol Fire Company as well as a former Jackson Twp. policeman. Seb was honored in 1990 with a Valor Award by the Pennsylvania House and Senate as well as the Cambria, Central, and Western Area Fireman's Associations. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, and 2-8 p.m., Friday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Friday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Seb’s memory may be made to the Windber Hospice, Dauntless Fire Company, or to Holy Name Catholic Church. A Fraternal Order of Police and Mainline Police Assoc. Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Fireman’s Memorial Service.
