Obituary: KLAYKO - Lawrence Edward, 80, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Ebensburg, entered into the eternal life of Divine Mercy on November 16, 2015 after an extended illness. He was born April 10, 1935 in Nanty Glo, the second child of the late Albert and Hannah Klayko. He was also preceded in death by sister, Verna and husband, Russell Lukens; brother in law, Vincent Glista, Fred Brown, and Tibor Szabo. Surviving him are sisters, Hannah Brown, SC; Agnes (Tom) Manning, Ebensburg; and Ida Szabo, FL.; as well as brothers, Albert M. Klayko and wife Julie, KY; and Martin S. Klayko and wife Margaret, OH. He was an uncle and great uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. A 1954 graduate of Ebensburg Cambria High School, he entered the Navy and served on active duty for the next eight years, including deployment during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the USS Sarsfield. His love of recorded music was shared with everyone near him. A love for tinkering kept the family bicycle in top shape for all to enjoy. Moving on to cars, he treated every vehicle he owned with great pride, sparkling clean and maintained, later developing an interest in classic vehicles and car shows. Private funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Holy Name Angel Fund, or to an organization of your choice.
