Obituary: MARDIS – Annie, 83, of Nanty Glo,went to be with the Lord Oct. 3, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 11, 1933 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Maxwell and Alice Ruth (Lamer) Caldwell. Preceded in death by husband, William “Jack” Mardis; son, Jack Barry; infant brother, Luther; and brother in law, Ken Caskey. Survived by children, Gerald (Sherry) Mardis; Debi (Larry) Swartz; William (Debbie) Mardis; and Sheri (Lee) Rummel. 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Sister of Helen Caskey; David (Pat) Caldwell; Agnes (Dwaine) Whited; and Nira Wilde; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lifetime member of Nanty Glo Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Pastor Linda Beachley, officiating. Interment, Pineland Cemetery, Strongstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annie’s memory may be made to Nanty Glo Church of the Brethren.
