Obituary: HOOVER – Jacqueline M., 85, of Nanty Glo, was called home by the angels on Jan. 26, 2017. Born April 18, 1931 in Barnesboro, daughter of the late Albert and Mary McCombie. Preceded in death by brother, Thomas; and sisters, Anna Louise, Marion and Janet. Survived by husband, Thomas; children, Thomas (Millie) Hoover; Jack (Chrissy) Hoover; Jill Werner; Dan (Robin) Hoover; Mary (Brian) Jones; and Jeff (Cyndi) Hoover. Also survived by grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Deanna, Jackie, Sarah, Jordan, Danica, Corey, Jenna and London; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jackson, Seth and Jameson; and sister, Cynthia O’Connor. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Owner/operator of the former Hoovers Flower Shop of Nanty Glo for over 30 years. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker. She was an avid reader; loved crocheting, quilting and cross stitching; enjoyed gardening; and was a master of many crafts. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery, Northern Cambria. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to Nanty Glo Public Library.
