Obituary: KUBAT - Stanley John "Stush", 78, formerly of Blacklick Twp., passed away peacefully November 22, 2007 at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Born January 30, 1929 in Ebensburg, son of the late Albert and Victoria (Sarick) Kubat. Preceded in death by wife, the former Marie C. Noel; sisters: Katherine Scansaroli, Mary Kowalsky, Clara Zuck, and Helen DeQueant; and brothers Joseph and Albert Kubat. Survived by brothers and sisters: Anna Larzalere, Nanty Glo; John Kubat, Cambria Twp.; Frank Kubat, Florida; Margaret Jones, Gouldsboro; and Lillian Zanin of Ebensburg. Also survived by many caring nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Retired coal miner from the former Bethlehem Mine #32 with 40 years of service. Member of U.M.W.A. Stush enjoyed hunting in his younger days and was an avid sportsman. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a vigil prayer service will be held Monday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Marys' Church, the Rev. Fr. David S. Peles, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
