WILSON - Francis "Slim", 88, of Mundys Corner, passed away June 30, 2008 at home. Born August 23, 1919 in Indiana, PA, son of the late Frank and Rose (Hotham) Wilson. Preceded in death by wife, Doris E. (Bryan) Wilson; sisters, Alice Medsger and Blanche Burdgis; and brothers, Herb and Bob Wilson. Survived by daughter, Dora Charlene Sayne, Mundys Corner; and son, L. Wayne Newman, Georgia. Grandchildren, Mark (Carol) Sayne, Nanty Glo; and Sandra (Byron) Phillips, Perkiomenville, PA; and four other grandchildren. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren; brother, William Wilson, Beaver, PA.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Wilson Electric Pumps, Mundys Corner, with 37 years of service. Life Member N.R.A. WW II Army veteran having served in the National 4th Infantry Division. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, the Rev. Clayton Harriger, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. Military Rite by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations in Slim's memory may be made to Conemaugh Hospice or The N.R.A.
