Obituary of James R. Charnesky

CHARNESKY - James R. “Jimbo” , 55, of Nanty Glo, passed away Sept. 7, 2019. Born Oct. 14, 1963 in Colver. Preceded in death by father, James R.; and daughter, Ashley Nikole. Survived by mother, Betty L. Charnesky; wife, Sara, to whom he was married for 16 years; step daughter, Beth (Doug) Stoecker; step son, Brian (Pilar) Ogier. 7 Grandchildren; and sisters, Toni (Steve) Moore; and Carol (Jeffrey) Owen. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where Parastas will be sung that evening. Brief Service at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Nanty Glo, the Very Rev. Fr. George Hnatko, officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ascension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimbo’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Nanty Glo.
