Obituary of Mary Martin

MARTIN - Mary (Farkas), 81, Nanty Glo, died June 29, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 20, 1927, in Vintondale, daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Horvath) Farkas. Preceded in death by husband, Robert, and many brothers and sisters. Survived by children: Regina Ray (James), Vinco; Dennis Martin, Aspen; Cynthia Olstein (William), Nanty Glo; Thomas Martin (Linda), Nanty Glo; and Michael Martin, York; grandchildren: James Ray Jr. (Susan), Timothy Ray (Cindy), Sherry Martin, Christopher Martin, Amber Martin, William Olstein Jr., Amanda Misner (Keith), Thomas Martin and Brittany Martin; great-grandchildren: Sara Ray, Olivia Ray, Joshua Ray, Ian Martin, Robert Martin; and brother, Nicholas Farkas (Jenny), Fairfield. Mary enjoyed traveling, sewing, music and dancing and spending time with family and friends. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo. Retired from Ebensburg Center after 25 years as a medical technologist. A graduate of Mount Aloysius College. Member of Altar Rosary Society, which will recite the Rosary at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where a liturgical wake service will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. David Peles and the Rev. Donald Dusza, co-celebrants. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church.
