WALTIMIRE - Genevieve (McCabe), 81, died peacefully at home in Colver on July 3, 2008, daughter of the late James and Jenny (Fern) McCabe, she was born in the village of Ehrenfeld on June 24, 1927, but lived most of her life in the community of Revloc, before moving to nearby Colver in 1999. Preceded in death by sister, Mary Katherine (McCabe) Miller. Survived by husband of 61 years, Duane Steele Waltimire; and children, Theresa (Paul) Campbell, Nanty Glo; Mary Kay (William) Venet, Ideal Park, PA; Daniel (and companion, Darla), Revloc.; and Virginia (David) Hostetter, Portage. Also survived by sisters, Alice (McCabe) Ford, of Virginia; Ann (Clement) De Lattre, Ebensburg; Floretta (Kenneth) Gates, Johnstown; brother, James McCabe, Jr. (Ann ), of Lilly; and grandchildren, Paul, Duane, Anna, Daniel, Steele, William, Vickie, Alexandra, Samantha, and Zayne Pierce. In her youth she was an employee of the Revloc Company Store and the Ebensburg 5 & 10. Later in life she became an avid collector of historic memorabilia and coins, creating a unique legacy for her children and grandchildren. Genevieve also enjoyed live country music. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where the rosary will be recited Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Colver, the Rev. Bernard Grega, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Genevieve's memory may be made to Holy Family Church.
