Obituary of Richard V. Ruby

RUBY - Richard V. "Butch" Sr., 69, Twin Rocks, died July 10, 2008, in Nanty Glo. Born April 17, 1939, in Summerville, N.J., son of Louis Ruby and Margaret (Szabonya) Ruby Zamboni. Preceded in death by father; stepfather, Louis Zamboni; and brother, Joey Ruby. Survived by mother, Margaret; children, Richard V. Ruby Jr. (Beth), Holland, N.J.; Sharon McFadden (Kenneth), Quakertown, Pa.; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Samantha and Richie Ruby and Sean and Brendan McFadden. Brother of Julia Zelesnick (David), Hillsborough, N.J.; and Patricia Younkin (James), Bangor. Our dad, Butch, was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and taking walks with his dogs. He was a thoughtful and caring son, brother, father and grandfather. He was well loved by all and will be deeply missed. He retired from Johns-Manville. He was an Army veteran. A member of American Legion Post 619, VFW Post 7605 and American Polish Club, all of Nanty Glo, and Cardiff Sportsmans Club and Coal Country Auto Club, both of Twin Rocks. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the the Rev. Deacon James Janosik. Military services will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
