Obituary of Eugene Novitski

NOVITSKI - Eugene, 78, Mundys Corner, died July 11, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 29, 1930, in Nanty Glo, son of Joseph and Frances (Isban) Novitski. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Loretta Smith; and beloved wife, Beverly, who passed away June 7, 2008. Gene and Bev were married on July 2, 1960, and would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. Survived by children, Michael and Cindy (Poeta); Elayne and Lynn Ertter; Lisa and Leroy Stump; and James and Pamela (Mosley); and grandchildren, Michael, Angelo and Larry Novitski; Kayce and Carson Ertter; Alysse, Ashley and Brandon Stump; and Katlyn, Chelsea and Cody Novitski. Brother of Marion Cynar, Johnstown, and her twin brother, Raymond Nowick of California. Gene will be sadly missed by his family and grandchildren. Gene was a co-owner with his wife, Beverly, in the family business. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, the Rev. Paul Robine. Entombment, Richland Cemetery, Johnstown.
