BATTISTA - Robert David, previously of Ebensburg, died at his residence in Los Angeles on March 5, 2007, following a long illness. Robert held a bachelor's degree in economics from University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and spent his career working in retail management, food service industry and computer technologies. He lived a full life and was an avid chess player, an amateur photographer and even had the opportunity for a cameo appearance in the movie "The Thorn Birds." Born April 23, 1951, in Johnstown. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Battista, and his father, Joseph Battista Sr. Robert is survived by two brothers, Joseph, and wife, Rose, Ebensburg, and Donald, and wife, Patricia, Oakland, Md., and two sisters, Constance Sloan, and husband, Daniel, Springfield, Va., and Nancy Roderick, and husband, Michael, Bowie, Md., as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Bob will be sadly missed by friends and family.
