CLAWSON - Frances A., 78, Ebensburg, died May 31, 2007, at home. Born Aug. 20, 1928, in Ashville, daughter of Francis and Bertha Cecelia (Hollen) Wharton. Preceded in death by parents; husband, William R. Clawson Jr.; three sisters; and five brothers. Survived by these children, Cheryl A., wife of Allan Thomas, Portage Township; and Bill P., married to the former Sharon Vandenberg, and Mike, married to the former Mary Sloan, both of Ebensburg; also five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Formerly employed by Ebensburg Office Supply and Falchini's. Frances enjoyed working and taking care of her garden and pond. She also volunteered at Holy Name Church and sang in the choir. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Friday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Carmelite Monastery, P.O. Box 57, Loretto, or National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, 9480 N. DeMazendo Drive, Belleville, Ill. 62223, in Frances' memory.
