MAKIN - Bruce E., 50, Ebensburg, died Feb. 25, 2008, in Buffington Township. Born Aug. 27, 1957, in Colver, son of Carl and Irene (Toth) Makin. Preceded in death by brother, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents. Survived by parents, Colver; wife, the former Janet Hoover; and these children: Karissa and Janelle, both of Pittsburgh, and Amber and Josh, both at home. Brother of Richard (Gail), Currensville, and Cathy (Kevin) Bodenschatz, Ferndale; also numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was a loving son, husband and father to his family. He enjoyed redoing furniture, gardening, writing and reading. Bruce was employed by CME Mining Engineering of Latrobe. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Wednesday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, in Bruce's memory.
