SHEFTIC - David John, 77, of Ebensburg, formerly of Colver.  On September 30, 2019 his soul departed his earthly body at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Dave was born at Colver Hospital on July 31, 1942 to the late John and Catherine (Carroll) Sheftic. He is survived by wife, Terine Wills-Sheftic; and brother, Gerald W. Sheftic. Dave graduated with honors from Central Cambria High School in 1960. He attended Penn State University from 1960 to 1964, then he enlisted in the US Army during Vietnam, serving until he was honorably discharged in 1967. After his discharge from the military, he was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 18 years. During his lifetime he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding and taming wild birds, cross-country skiing, biking, racquetball, chess, and lively political discussion.  His fonest memories were of fishing trips to Fisherman's Paradise with his dad and brother Jerry. They took many wonderful photos of these trips, which Dave enjoyed. A private service was held at the convenience of the family, interment at South Fork Cemetery. Dave's wife, Teri, wishes to sincerely thank the following: his most caring physician, Dr. Basma Kahlil; his loving caregivers from Kindred Hospice, Maureen, Ashley, Kylie, Lorraine, & Pastor Tim; the staff at Rebekah Manor, as well as the residents and family members who cared about David; also the Askew-Houser staff, who have been most kind during this difficult time.
