Obituary of John Mehalko

MEHALKO – John, 90, of Nanty Glo, died  Oct. 25, 2019. Born July 21, 1929 in Cardiff. Leaves behind daughter, Kelly Oxendine; son, John Christopher Mehalko; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and special friend-companion, Barbara Jackens. Preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Susan Mehalko; also brother, Andrew Mehalko.  Survived by brother, William Mehalko; sisters, June Monborne and Carol Ann Mottin.  Served 4 years as Staff  Sgt., USAF, 1951-1955.  Retired member, Penna. State Police, Cpl. Troop “B”, Washington, PA. from 1957-1979.  Employed 8 years, NASA Security, Kennedy Space Center, FL. An avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Loved the outdoors. Member Retired State Police Assn. of Penna. Former member Super Senior Golf Team, Vintondale. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements are in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.
