KARASHIN – Marcey (Learn), 52, of Ebensburg, passed away December 23rd, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 26th, 1967 in Johnstown, daughter of Edwin D. and Marilyn K. (Watson) Learn. Preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, and brother-in-law Harry Gittings. Survived by her parents, of Johnstown; her husband, Ricky Karashin, whom she married in 1998 and children: Chad P. (Amy) Croyle, Phoenixville; Alissa R. (Bruce) Legros, Ebensburg; Sarah (Randy) McCool, Northern Cambria; and Kacey Haluska, and fiance’ Cody Kinback, at home. Also grandchildren: Kaden & Leyton Legros; and Makayla, Aubrey, & Randall McCool. Also survived by brothers: Randy (Pam) Learn, Beaver, Pa; and Craig (Bridget) Learn, Ebensburg; sister Karen Gittings, Darlington, S.C.; brother-in-law William “Chuck” (Elizabeth) Karashin; numerous nieces and nephews; and her trusted dogs, “Gracie” and “Libby”. Marcey was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College, with a degree in Nursing; she had been employed by SCI, Huntingdon and Cresson, where she met her husband Ricky; and by the Home Nursing Agency. She enjoyed Kayaking, Camping, spending time with her grandchildren and fussing over her family. She was a member of Ebensburg United Methodist Church and the local Tres Dias. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 pm. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, Pastor J. R. Virgin, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
