Obituary of William Toth, Jr.

TOTH – William, Jr., “Barber Bill”, 86, of  Loretto, passed away Feb. 18, 2020 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born Dec. 8, 1933 in Vintondale, son of the late William, Sr. and Martha (Gulyas) Toth. Preceded in death by wife, Janet; an infant daughter; great grandson, Joseph Reed Minelli; brother, Dennis; and daughter in law, Janine. Survived by children, W. Daniel (Christine) Toth; Terry Toth; Joseph (Penny) Toth; Greg (Lisa) Toth; Gabrielle (Kelvin) Cuchens; David (Leah) Toth; Stephan (Nadine) Toth; James Toth; and Vince (Charlene) Toth. 26 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by brothers, Ronald Toth and  James (Carlene) Toth; sister in law, Anetta Toth; and numerous nieces and nephews. US Navy veteran during the Korean War. Retired Police Chief of Loretto Boro. Past president and lifetime member of Mainline Police Association. Former member and Past Commander American Legion Post 748, Loretto. Former member of Loretto Fire Company. Founding member of Loretto Ambulance Service. First Boy Scout Leader in Loretto. William “Barber Bill” was also a retired barber. An avid hunter and fisherman, which he enjoyed with his immediate family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev.  Leonard Voytek, officiating. Military rite by local veterans organizations. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
