Obituary of Dorothy J. Nedrich

NEDRICH – Dorothy J. “Dottie”, 81, of Nanty Glo, died June 11, 2020 at Windber Hospice. Born April 20, 1939 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Safko) Nedrich. Survived by three sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Nedrich; Barbara Nedrich; and Patricia Ann Schron. Nephews, Chris (Chrissy) Schron; and Cameron (Jacqui) Schron. Niece, Kirsten Schron. Great nephew and niece, Colton and Evelyn Schron. Dottie was a graduate of the former Nanty Glo –Vintondale Joint High School and Indiana State University. She worked in Washington DC for the Federal Aviation Agency for many years. On her return to Nanty Glo, she was employed by L. Robert Kimball Engineering. She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Nanty Glo and was a member of Nanty Glo Senior Citizens. Dottie was a very caring and compassionate person and was loved by everyone. At her request, there will be no viewing. Divine Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, the Rev. Dr. Robert Oravetz. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo. Arrangements in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dottie’s memory may be made to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.
