Obituary of Marie Catherine (Wirfel) Adams

ADAMS – Marie Catherine (Wirfel), 96, Manor Drive, Ebensburg, passed away August 7, 2020 at Amber Hills, Ebensburg.  Born January 9, 1924 in Summerhill, daughter of the late Aloysius J. and Theresa L. (Weinzierl) Wirfel.  Preceded in death by husband Roy C. Adams, daughter Donna; grandson, Tyler Adams; brothers: James, Leroy, and Regis, and sisters: Ruth Henry and Arlene Chimelewski.  Survived by sons:  Ronald (Beverly) Adams, Florida;  David Adams, Ebensburg; and Raymond (Karen) Adams,  Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.    Also survived by brother, Claude C. Wirfel; and sisters:  Evelyn Woomer, Adella R. Brown, and Alice Moyer.  A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church.  Marie was a homemaker most of her life, but was also a self-employed beautician and had done factory work in her early years.  A loving wife, mother, and grandmother.   Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 11th, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 12th at Holy Name Church, Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant.  Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum.  Per the family’s request, masks will be required at the Funeral Home, Funeral Mass and Mausoleum – no exceptions.
