Obituary of Virginia E. Peterman

PETERMAN – Virginia E., 78, of Nanty Glo, was called to join her Heavenly Father on Jan. 23, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 27, 1942 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Nicholas and Barbara Kozlovac. Preceded in death by husband, Ernest L. “Ernie” Peterman; and sister, Betty. Survived by children, Chrissy (Scott) Lucas; Cathy (Dave) Swatsworth; Cheri (Dave) Grimaldi; and Ernie (Joy) Peterman. “Mam’s” pride and joy were her grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Scotty, David, Gavin, Alivia, Garrett, Grant, Gianna and Nolan. Also survived by sisters, Fran, Mary Lou, Eleanor, Jean, Diane and Debbie; brothers, Louie, Joe, Mick and Buddy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Virginia touched the lives of many. She shared her strong faith and love of God with all. She was selfless, always putting others first. Her kindness was unending. She was also known for her famous homemade pierogies. Virginia and her dear husband, Ernie were the owners and operators of The Little Wheel Tavern for over 20 years. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. Please wear masks at both the funeral home and church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.askew-houser.com.
