Obituary of Margaret L. Jones

JONES - Margaret L., 103,  of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully May 12, 2021 at home.  Born August 16, 1917 on the family farm in Pine Twp., Indiana Co., Pa., daughter of the late Emerson Stephens and Bertha Rosella (Overman) Stephens-Morris.  Preceded in death by husband Harold N. "Howdy" Jones, daughters-in-law Alice (Menz) Jones and Brenda (Good) Jones; brothers, Laird, Floyd, Norman “Jake”, Alvie, and Ethel Stephens, step-brother Tom Morris, and half-sister Katherine Edwards.  Survived by her sons: Kenneth Jones, Waynesboro, Pa.; Clifford (Patricia) Jones, Sanford, N.C,; and Richard (Marlene) Jones, of Lake Frederick, VA.  Also six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and half-brother Robert Morris,  Ebensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.  A long-time member of the Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational), she had also been employed for 19 years as a school bus driver for the former Castelli Transportation, serving the Central Cambria and Bishop Carroll High Schools.  She enjoyed spending time with family, walks with her neighbor, and children of all ages.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.  Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Ebensburg United Church of Christ, Mr. Andrew Jones, lay minister, officiating.  Interment at Lloyd Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Ebensburg United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 217 E. High Street, Ebensburg, Pa.  15931.
