SZEKERESH – Florene E. “Renie”, 94, of Jackson Twp., passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023. Born Jan. 21, 1929 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Semelsberger) Tucker. Preceded in death by husband, Albert and several brothers and sisters. Survived by children, Kathleen (Albert) Gailey; Michelle (Dennis) Newcomer; Janice (Dale) Bradley; Daniel (Suzanne) Szekeresh; and Charlene (Scott) Greasamar. 12 Grandchildren. 16 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. Also survived by brother, Von Tucker. Active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner and had been proud of her longstanding position of helping in the church kitchen. Former owner/operator of The Big Stone Inn, Jackson Twp., where she was the personification of generosity and love. Renie was a Democratic Committeewoman. She enjoyed baking, quilting and sewing. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. John Vianney Church, the Rev. Timothy Harris, TOR, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations in Renie’s memory may be made to St. John Vianney Church.
