Obituary of Mary Joyce Kivisto

KIVISTO – Mary Joyce, 64, of Jackson Twp., went to be with the Lord on Feb. 5, 2025 at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 2, 1960 in Spangler, daughter of the late John and Mary (Judd) Lazeration. Preceded in death by sister, Joni Lazeration. Survived by husband, David M. Kivisto, to whom she was married for 32 years; and sons, David J. “DJ” Kivisto; and Michael Kivisto. Member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. Mary was a school teacher with Central Cambria School District for 35 years. She enjoyed reading; her pets; and especially spending time with her family.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo and from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Vicar Jenn Bobolsky-Sherbine, officiating.
