Obituary of Mary C. (Anstead) Kania

KANIA - Mary C. (Anstead), 96, of Twin Rocks, passed away Saturday April 5, 2025 at the home of her daughter in Clune, Pa.  Born February 9, 1929 in Wehrum, daughter on the late John Anstead and Anna (Kelly) Anstead-Ayers.  Last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by husband Stanley Kania, Sr.,  sons: Gary, Raymond and Ronald Kania; and daughters, Rosemary and Linda. 

Survived by children: Stanley (Susan) Kania, Jr.; Geraldine (Jeff) Fletcher; Florine Rupert;  Walter Kania; Mary (Kevin) Silvis; Brenda (Norman) Smith; and Gordon (Brenda) Kania;  14 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. Also survived by step-sister, Helen Ayers.  

Mary was a member of the former St. Charles Parish, Twin Rocks.  She loved to go shopping with her daughter, enjoyed cooking, cleaning and caring for her family. She will be long remembered for her love of flower gardening and tending to her birds.   Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc. 1310 Shoemaker Street, Nanty Glo, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Rev.
