Obituary of Joshua Mark Brletic

Please share a memory of Joshua to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

BRLETIC – Joshua Mark, 45, of Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1979, in McKeesport, PA.

Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Carol Brletic; maternal grandfather, Roger Barnes; and mother-in-law, Barbara Warmus.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, the former Dawn Warmus. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Georgia, Emma, and Hannah. Josh is also survived by his parents, Thomas and Nadine (Barnes) Brletic; his brother, Michael (Amy) Brletic; nieces, Amelia and Olivia; maternal grandmother, Mary “Mollie” Barnes; father-in-law, Michael Warmus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, extended nieces and nephews, family, and many dear friends.

A 2002 graduate of Penn State University, Josh earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. It was at Penn State that he met Dawn when they were just 18, and they remained inseparable ever since.

Josh worked as an Area Loss Prevention Manager (ALPM) of dd’s Discount/Ross Inc, based out of Dallas, TX, and was a highly respected member of his company. He received several prestigious honors throughout his career, including MVP of the Year, Top District of the Region, and ALPM of the Year on multiple occasions—an award ultimately renamed “The Josh Award”.

Josh had a passion for life and a love for many things: cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, bowling, shooting pool, and singing karaoke. He had a remarkable voice and won many contests over the years. He enjoyed cooking for his family on his Z Grills smoker, boating, wakeboarding, and cars—but above all, he cherished his time with Dawn and their daughters. He was a proud "cheer dad," faithfully attending every game and competition.

Friends will be received on Sunday, June 1, from 5–8 p.m. at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo and from 10:30 until time of Celebration of Life service on Monday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Nanty Glo, Pastor Geno Bartoletti officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
