VAY - Thomas Dale, 82, of Ebensburg, went to be with the Lord, June 3, 2025 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Dec. 19, 1942 in Colver, son of the late Thomas Ernest II and Marian (Bolinger) Vay. Survived by wife, his high school sweetheart, Carol Lee (Cessna) Vay to whom he was married for 60 years; children, Dale Scott (Miguel) Vay; Christina Lee (Jason) Doll; and Craig Daniel (Dave) Walters-Vay; grandchildren, Colton, Brandon, Connor and Caycee; and great grandchildren, William and Mattie. Member of Ebensburg Methodist Church where he was on many committees. Retired SKF, Altoona, Ebensburg Auto Auction, and Bethlehem Mine 33. Member UMWA, Army veteran during the Vietnam war having served in Germany, and was a top marksman. Member of Ebensburg VFW Post 4963. An Eagle Scout, Order of DeMolay, and a baseball coach for many years. His love for hunting and fishing was surpassed by his love for his family and grandchildren. A special thank you to Windber Hospice for their care. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Ebensburg Methodist Church with Pastor Ashley Weyant officiating. Military Rite by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale's memory to Ebensburg Methodist Church for the Mission Trip.
