WASKOVICH – Martha, 95, of Ebensburg, passed away June 22, 2025 at home. Born August 13, 1929 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Mihalcin) Hovanec. Preceded in death by husband, Albert; son, Gary; great grandson, Eric Baker; brothers, John, Joseph and Steven Hovanec; sisters, Ann Cicon; Helen Machowski; Mary Loncella; Margaret Hovanec; and son in law, Larry Schenk. Survived by children, Paulette Schenk; Albert (Lynn) Waskovich; Pamela (Michael) Palovich; and Elaine (Patrick) Shaffer. 9 Grandchildren. 15 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Andrew Hovanec; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, where she was a member since 1959. Martha had the mind of an artist and was very creative. She also enjoyed bingo at the Senior Center. She loved taking walks in nature. A special thank you to Conemaugh Hospice for their compassionate care. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Holy Name Church, Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant.
