Mary Elizabeth (Ball) Dodson
February 13, 1973 – June 26, 2025

Mary Elizabeth (Ball) Dodson, 52, passed away peacefully in her home in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania on June 26, 2025, surrounded by love.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, and friend. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time outdoors, caring for her beloved dogs Lucy and Norman, tending to her garden, golfing with her husband and friends, visiting her daughters, and laughing with her closest friends. Her warmth and unwavering love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Dodson; her daughters, Jordan and McKenna Hayward; her stepdaughter, Adrienne Dodson; and her granddaughter, Vanessa. She is also survived by her siblings, Melissa Ball, Lorie (Ball) Bracken, and Joe Ball; her father, Lawrence Ball, and stepmother, Jeanne Ball. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Thomasine Ball, whose memory she carried in her heart.

A viewing will be held at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg on Sunday, June 29th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., where a vigil prayer service will be held.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30^th, at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Brian Warchola, celebrant.  Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s honor to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904, a cause close to her heart.
