Dorothy B. McNulty Obituary

McNULTY - Dorothy (Bertison), 89, of Altoona, and a native of Patton, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on September 13, 1935, in Patton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (McConnell) Bertison. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul F. McNulty; her son, David Joseph McNulty; and her sisters, Barbara Cence and Joan Baran.  Dorothy is survived by her devoted children: Paula McNulty, Altoona; Marianne (Tim) Houser, Ebensburg; Kevin (Darla) McNulty, Altoona; Linda (Greg) Servello, Altoona; and Monica (Mark) Liebal, Roaring Spring.  She is also survived by her sister, Margaret "Margie" Lipin; brother-in-law Joseph McNulty; 18 grandchildren: John Paul (Vanessa) Houser; Joseph Houser; Cecilia (Christopher) Farabaugh; Claire (Tim) Lowmaster; Daniel (Elisabeth) McNulty; Jill DeWeese; Alex (Jessica) McNulty; Isaac and Morgan McNulty; Nick (Jess) Servello; Jackie, Dorothy, Dana, and Kim Servello; Tori (Sean) Montler; Meg (Jared) Green; Paul Liebal; and Emily (Hunter) Dumm.  Dorothy was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Sebastion and Adelaide Houser; Meredith, Samantha, Lainey, and Case McNulty; David, Isabelle, Margaret, Walter and Warren Farabaugh;  Naomi, Aiven, Tobias, and Dominic DeWeese; Tucker and Twila Joan Lowmaster;  Hayli, Teagan, and Zoey McNulty; Mackinley and Aliza Montler; and Augustine "Gus" Servello.

A graduate of Patton High School, Dorothy was active in the school band where she played the French horn and served proudly as a majorette. She was a longtime member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. Dorothy’s greatest joy was her family. Dorothy devoted her life to us, from rocking babies, hosting holiday gatherings, to preparing meals in "her" kitchen.    In her younger years, she cheerfully cared for her grandchildren, teaching and inspiring them alongside her husband Paul.  She treasured the annual family vacations to the Outer Banks—a beloved tradition for 54 years—as well as family trips to the Poconos and other travels with Paul during his retirement.  Dorothy’s legacy of love, strength, and joy will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
