LASH – Thomas, 77, of Colver passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29 and now joins his loving wife, Deborah and step son, Thomas P. Thompson. Son of the late John and Erma Lash of Vintondale, he was born January 4, 1948, the oldest of four children. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years during the Vietnam era. Afterward he worked at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown and CAMCO in Ebensburg as an electrician. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and traveling, especially with Deb. He is survived by his children Michael (Jara) Lash and Tina Lash (Charles Lichtenfels) and granddaughter Cate Baumgardner; stepchildren Judy (Mike) Kuzar, Albert Thompson, Jr., Hope (Gary) Melnyk, and Vicki (Edward) George; 12 additional grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings Edward (Lena) Lash, Theresa (John) Gresko, and Johanna Lash; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday, December 4 from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm at Askew-Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Ebensburg, with funeral rites performed by Father Brian Warchola afterward.
