My Grandma is finally at peace in Heaven! She is with my Uncle, Jimmy, Val, my Great Grandma, and all of her favorite pets! She LOVED animals and adored her pets. At family dinners and events, all the dogs would surround Grandma as she “snuck” them food. She denied giving them food, but it was obvious as the dogs surrounded her! She would also care for and feed the neighborhood stray cats, and other outdoor animals. She additionally took in and loved several stray cats, and even a flying squirrel! She adored her bird, “Pretty Baby”, spoiling her with nuts and candy. Her dogs were precious to her; they were her furbabies. She cared deeply and adored her pets and animals. She loved telling jokes and making everyone laugh! She was sassy, and you never knew what she was going to say. I often called her my sassy Grandma! She loved her sweets, especially brownies and ice cream! She always had candy and it often fell out of her pockets… earning her the nickname, Grandma Piñata! My Grandma was sassy, strong, stubborn, and resilient. She was a fighter and fought till the end! We will all miss my Grandma; however, she is at peace in Heaven! We all hope to carry on her fight for life, resilience, sassiness, and love for animals!

We love you, Grandma! - your Granddaughter, Shawna Smithbauer.
