RODGERS – Ronald J., 87, of Wesley Chapel, passed away Jan. 7, 2026. Born Aug. 16, 1938 in Nanty Glo, son of the late William and Ann (Hayes) Rodgers. Preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Bill “Bird Eggs” and Edward; beloved grandson, David Rodgers; and son in law, Randy Birk. Survived by his wife, Judy (Kerr) Rodgers, to whom he was married for 66 years; children, Lynn (Rodgers) Birk and Kevin (Nanette) Rodgers. Grandsons, Matthew (Tristie) Birk and Adam (Sydney) Rodgers. Great Granddaughters, Mabel Rodgers and Stevie Rae Rodgers. Also survived by his sister, Eileen (Sherman) Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved pet, Sadie. Ron was born and raised in Nanty Glo, lived in Akron, Ohio for 40 years, then moved to Wesley Chapel after his retirement from Alside Aluminum in Akron. Member of Summit Chapel Church, William Penn Ave., East Taylor Twp. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Ron loved his family, his country and was a great Patriot. He enjoyed technology and loved life. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Pastor Bill Warrick, officiating.
