MARTIN - Evalyn Mae, 88, of Colver, passed away peacefully January 12, 2026 at home. Born May 4, 1937 in Colver, the daughter of the late Dr. Alexander Douglas and Eva (MacLaren) Martin. Preceded in death by brothers, Dr. Neil Douglas Martin and James MacLaren Martin. Evalyn was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She entered the United States Air Force in 1963 and served twenty years as a Clinical Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, achieving the rank of Major. She was a recipient of the Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 bronze stars and the Outstanding Unit Award with 1 bronze oak leaf cluster. Upon her retirement in 1983 from Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center, Texas; she returned to her beloved Colver.  She was a lifelong member of the Colver Presbyterian Church.  She loved her dogs, two certified AKC boxers, who were award winning throughout the state.  Evalyn is survived by her nephew and best friend James Douglas Martin.  Due to the inclement weather, Evalyn's funeral service at the funeral home, Ebensburg on Thursday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m.   Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.  Condolences to the family may be left at www.askew-houser.com
