Kathryn Louise "Kitty" Kovach Obituary

KOVACH – Kathryn L., “Kitty” (Mallin), 82, of Revloc,  passed away January 28, 2026 at home.  Born July 24, 1943 in Revloc, daughter of the late William A. and Ruby K. (Mock) Mallin.  She is preceded in death by her brothers Walter, William, and Ronald Mallin.  Survived by her husband Steve, with whom she enjoyed 63 years of marriage; son Steven, of Revloc and daughter Gail (Gary) Kowalczyk, of Venetia, Pa.  Also survived by grandchildren Kirsten and Bryce Kowalczyk and brother Paul D. Mallin, of Ebensburg.  Kitty served as a secretary for the Central Cambria High School for 29 years.  She started her school career as a counseling secretary in the Guidance Office and later became one of the go-to people in the principal’s office.  A lifelong member of the Revloc Presbyterian Church, she had served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, Past church treasurer, deacon, elder and will be long remembered for her devotion to the church music, serving as pianist and organist.  Kitty loved her family and loved people.  Always a smile, always well dressed and always willing to assist anyone in need. 


 


Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg; Rev. Dave O’Hara, officiating.   Interment at SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cemetery, Vintondale.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Kitty’s memory may be made to her beloved church, the Revloc Presbyterian Church.   


 


 


A Memorial Liturgy is being planned for a later date at the SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Vintondale.
