TATARKO – Irene Marie, 93, of Twin Rocks, passed away March 15, 2026. Born Dec. 18, 1932 in Twin Rocks, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Swalligan) Columbus. Preceded in death by loving husband, of 60 years, George Tatarko, Jr.; children, George “Taddy” Tatarko III, Mary Ann Adomnik; and Dr. Michael Tatarko, Sr.; granddaughter, Maggie Rose; siblings, Margaret Kachik, Thomas Columbus, Josephine Clark and Stella Rogal. Survived by Children, Therese (Bill) Stawarz; Tim (Nadine) Tatarko; and Marina (Chris) Zindash. Grandchildren, Michael Tatarko, Jr., Christopher Losiewicz, David Losiewicz, Benjamin Tatarko, Amanda Szwed, Anna Tatarko, Lucas Tatarko, Marie Shaffer, Thomas O’Connell and Hunter Tatarko. 14 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Joseph (Deb) Columbus; son-in-law, Rick Adomnik; daughter-in-law, Lori Tatarko; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. A retired Postal Clerk, Irene belonged to the Coal Country Line Dancing Group and was a member of the former St. Charles Picnic Committee.  Nothing was more important to Irene than her family and her faith. She loved baking and cooking for everyone. If you walked into her house she offered you food even if you didn’t want it. She loved to draw and paint, a talent she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and loved her flower garden. At Irene’s request there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Kevin Queally, TOR, officiating, Interment, St. Charles Cemetery. Twin Rocks.
