James J. Frank Obituary
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved James Joseph Frank. James passed on March 31, 2026 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. James, mostly lovingly known as Jim, was born to Celestine and Elizabeth (Farabaugh) Frank of Ebensburg, on June 17, 1935. Jim was one of 13 siblings with whom he maintained a close relationship with throughout his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Joseph, William, and Paul Frank, sister Mary Louise, and daughter-in-law Patricia (Biter) Frank.
Jim is survived by his adoring wife of 65 years Judith (Green) Frank, a partnership built on devotion, resilience, and a lifetime of shared memories; children David (Kris), Patrick, Kelly (Darrell) Reynolds, Douglas (Karri), and Kerry (John) Stanfield, who were his pride and joy; his 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren who were a constant source of happiness; siblings Frederick, George (Millie), Ronald, Shirley Ann, Robert (Karen), Thomas, and Darlene Adams, and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
James was a Navy veteran who served on the USS Ticonderoga (CVA-14) where he had the incredible experience of seeing various parts of the world during his time on the aircraft carrier. In his patriotism, he was a member of the Ebensburg American Legion, where he delighted in meeting up every Wednesday with his brothers, son, grandsons, and nephews.
After Jim came home from his time in the service, he dedicated himself to his work at Ed Long Construction, where he built more than just structures, he built a reputation for his skill, reliability, and quiet excellence. As a gifted carpenter, he found joy with working with his hands, and that talent became a gift he shared with his family. Jim was happiest when he was creating, building, and lending a hand.
James was not a man who sat still for long. In his 40’s, he discovered a love for golf. He became a member of the Immergrun Golf Course in Loretto where he enjoyed being on the course with friends and family.
Above all James loved being with his family and cherished when his kids, grandkids, and great grandchildren would come around and spend time together. Those moments filled with noise, laughter, and love were what he looked forward to most. The ever-growing Frank Family Reunion, that would bring the large extended family in from all over, held a special place in his heart, a reflection of the legacy he was proud to be a part of.
James will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
