EDWARDS – Michael, 72, of Nanty Glo, passed away on April 16, 2026 at Indiana Hospital. Born June 29, 1953 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by son, Robert Shawn; parents, Betty and Marshall; in-laws, John and Margaret Churilla; and brother, James. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Diane; and is also survived by his son, Michael (Angel) and grandchildren, William and Savanah; son, Matthew (Traci) and granddaughter, Samantha; son, Daniel; daughter, Angela (Greg) and grandchildren, Alec, Bryce and Emelia. Three great grandsons, Antonio, Grayson and Osiris. Also survived by sister, Linda (Michael) Sebetich.

Mike was employed by the former Bob Simmers Fords Sales; Alberta Stretch Limos and retired from Johnstown America Car Shop. Life member of Nanty Glo Fire Company. He served two terms on Borough Council. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing horseshoes and having picnics with friends and family. Mike was an avid hunter with his sons in his younger years and was proud of the 6-point which hangs on the wall. He had many friends and tried to lend a helping hand. He will be sadly missed by all who know him and also the “coffee crowd” at Common’s Hardware. He was a faithful loving husband, a doting father, and proud grandfather.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nanty Glo Fire Department, C.O.R.E, or to a pet rescue organization, in Mike’s memory.
