Joseph A. Panaro, 68, of Honey Brook, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Chester County Hospital with his wife and family by his side. He was the husband of Donna M. (O’Farrell) Panaro, sharing 38 years of marriage.

Born in Spangler, PA on November 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Victor C. Panaro and the late Rosetta (Tononi) Cossitor, and the grandson of the late Joseph and Cecelia Tononi. Joe graduated from Bishop Carroll High School with the class of 1975. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, and his master’s degree from St. Francis University. Prior to retirement, Joe had a successful career in banking as a commercial lender. He was a member of Church of Saint Benedict in Mohnton. Joe had a great interest in airplanes and enjoyed visiting aviation museums. He enjoyed golfing, spending time at the beach, loved roller coasters and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife Donna are his sisters-in-law Leslie Ollinger, wife of Jeffery, of Hollidaysburg, and Linda Geisel, wife of John, of Windber, PA, brothers-in-law Kenneth O’Farrell, Gregory O’Farrell, and Brian O’Farrell, all of Nanty Glo; nephews Patrick Ollinger and Michael Ollinger and niece Sara Dorn, wife of Lake; and several extended family members.

Relatives and friends are welcome to a viewing on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.

An additional time of viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 28th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Askew-Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 300 North Julian Street, Ebensburg, PA 15931.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 29th at 11:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 500 N Julian St, Ebensburg, PA 15931., Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant.  Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum.
