BAILEY – Marjorie "Margie" (Bowman-Charles), 89, of Colver, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  Born August 10, 1936, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Bernadine (Kruise) Bowman.  Margie was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene Charles and Willard Bailey; sisters, Wanda (Cal) Sheeder and Diane (Chuck) Meadows; brothers, Devonne (Shirley) Bowman and Dale Bowman; brother-in-law Clark Rose, and sister-in-law Janet and Vivian Bowman.

She is survived by her loving children: Ray Charles (partner Gloria Heresco), Denny (Rhanda) Charles, Larry Charles, Cindy (Kerry) Jacobs, Scott (Melissa) Charles, and Michele Bailey (partner Tracy). She was a devoted grandmother to Andrea (Troy) Brown, Lauren (Bret) Chapman, Kara (Rondell) Fields, Joe (Lori) Jacobs, Amber (Josh) McHugh, Deanna (Nate) Doyle, and Alesha VanFossen. She was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and another great-great-grandchild expected soon. She is additionally survived by brothers Gale Bowman (companion Donna Mitchell) and Darell (Susan) Bowman; sisters Jeanne Rose and Caren (Barry) Turner; and numerous cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Margie will be remembered as a gracious and kind-hearted woman whose warmth, generosity, and welcoming spirit touched the lives of many. She had a gift for making people feel at home and never missed an opportunity to share a smile, lend a helping hand, or enjoy a visit with family, friends, and neighbors.  A lifelong member of the Colver Presbyterian Church, Margie faithfully served as a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association and found great joy in her church family. She retired from Laurel Crest Manor after 19 years of dedicated service, where her caring nature and strong work ethic were appreciated by coworkers and residents alike. For many years, she was affectionately known throughout the community as "Colver's Avon Lady," building lasting friendships wherever she went. In 1973, she was proudly proclaimed Colver's Queen by Weight Watchers, an honor she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

Family was the center of Margie's life, and she took great pride in the generations that followed her. Her legacy of kindness, faith, grace, and love will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Colver Presbyterian Church, with Bob Sheehan officiating. Interment will be at Lloyd Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Margie's memory may be made to the Colver Volunteer Fire Company & 40-Tech or to Colver Presbyterian Church.
