BROTHERS – Susanne Marie (Grata), 71, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at Arotin's Hummingbird Estate in Patton, surrounded by the love and care she so richly deserved.   Born on March 26, 1955, in Johnstown, Susanne was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Gelesh) Grata. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kenneth Lynn Brothers, with whom she shared over 50 cherished years.

Susanne's greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Kenneth L. (Crystal) Brothers, Jean (Michael) Green, Jeremy L. (Trudy) Brothers, Andrew M. Brothers, and Kathryn Brothers. She was a proud and loving grandmother to 19 grandchildren and a treasured great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life.  She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Barbara Dryzal, Mary Kay (Dave) Peachman, Albert (Jean) Grata, Stanley “George” (Gerry) Grata, and Sharon “Jean” (Steve) Byrne, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Susanne dedicated 25 years of service to the Ebensburg Center, where her compassion, hard work, and leadership touched the lives of countless individuals. Beginning her career as a Residential Service Aide, she advanced through the positions of Therapeutic Activities Aide and Supervisor before retiring. Her commitment to helping others reflected the kindness and generosity that defined her life.

A woman of many talents and interests, Susanne embraced every season of life with enthusiasm and grace. In her younger years, she devoted herself to raising her family, volunteered at the Cambria County Fair, and delighted audiences through her performances with the Cresson Lake Playhouse. In retirement, she found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and unconditional love. She was an active member of the Ebensburg Stitchers and found strength, comfort, and fellowship through her faith and worship at Buckhorn Bible Church in Ashville.

Those who knew Susanne will remember her warm smile, caring heart, unwavering faith, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her. Her gentle spirit, dedication to family, and servant's heart leave a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M, Friday, June 26th at the Buckhorn Bible Church, Pastor Carl Wolfe, officiating.  Interment at Lloyd Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Condolences may be shared with the family through their website.

Susanne's life was a beautiful example of love, faith, service, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
