RAGER – Debra Sue (Crook), 62, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.  Born April 24, 1964, in New London, Connecticut, Debra was the daughter of Carolyn (Kepler) Crook and the late Robert H. Crook. She was also preceded in death by her cherished in-laws, Zada and Herb Rager.  Debra shared a beautiful life and 39 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Allen. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She was a proud and loving mother to Monica Matthews and Jessica Harrington, and her greatest joy was being “Gram” to her seven grandchildren: Corbin Delso; Benjamin and Nathaniel Matthews; Zada and Evan Harrington; and Levi and Brock Crook. Each of them held a special place in her heart.  She is also survived by her mother; her sisters, Kimberly (Jim) Walkingshaw, Christina (Jack) Racazsky, and Terry Antoinetta; and her special niece, Alyssa Walkingshaw. Debra’s faithful boxer, “Kidjibaya”, was a constant companion and source of comfort.  Debra dedicated many years to serving her community through her work, including as front-end manager at the Ebensburg Giant Eagle, a teller at Summit Bank in Cresson, and most recently as a clerk at the Ebensburg Auto Auction before retiring in February 2026. She was known for her warm smile, strong work ethic, and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone she met.  Beyond her work, Debra embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity. She and Allen loved traveling and attending rock concerts together, making memories wherever they went. A talented needlepoint artist, Debra poured her heart into each piece she created, often gifting her beautiful work to family and friends, a lasting expression of her love.

A gathering of friends will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 7, at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, followed by a Celebration of Debra’s Life at 1:00 p.m.
