REITER - Josephine M. (Komoroski), 88, of Nanty Glo, passed away June 26, 2008 at Windber Hospice. Born Aug. 1, 1919 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Komoroski. Preceded in death by husband, Steve Reiter, brothers Joseph and Stanley; and sister, Rose Trovinger. Survived by daughter, Cecelia (Molinich), wife of Leroy Wilson, Duncansville; step sons, Rodney and wife Sandy, Duncansville; and Clyde and wife Thelma, Michigan; Loving granddaughter, Anastasia Turchetta, North Carolina; and 7 step grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Anthony Komoroski, Florida. Member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Nanty Glo. Member Nanty Glo Women's Federated Democratic Club where she served as chaplain and committee woman. Member Nanty Glo VFW Ladies Auxillary and Nanty Glo Fire Ladies Auxillary. Formerly employed by a bomber plant in Michigan and was known there as " Josie the Riveter". Retired cook at Laurel Crest Manor. Josephine enjoyed reading, bingo, cooking and bowling. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where Parastas will be sung at 7pm that evening. Brief Service at the funeral home at 9:30am on Tuesday followed by Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Nicholas Church, Msgr. Raymond Balta. Interment, St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Josephine's memory may be made to her church or Windber Hospice.
