Obituary of Mildred Kaschalk

KASCHALK - Mildred (Verbonitz), 96, of Nanty Glo, passed away June 18, 2007. Born Nov. 13, 1910, in Carlin, Pa., daughter of the late George and Theresa (Verbanac) Verbonitz. Preceded in death by husband, Martin J. Kaschalk; brothers, George and Anthony; sisters, Catherine, Barbara, Anna and Helen; and son-in-law, Anthony Licastro. Survived by children, Ann Licastro, James (Wanda), Martin (Judy), Henry (Marylee), Teresa (Joseph) Horgas, Suzanne (David) Hanson and Francis (Carol). Also survived by loving grandchildren, Mark, James (Linda), Keith (Laura), Patrick, Kelly (Adam), Martin Jr., Michele (Jim), Jeffrey (Jennifer), Leigh (Allen), Daniel (Christine), Nicole (Howard), Matthew, David, Katie, Erin (fiance, Jason), Sarah, Christian, Adam (Linda) and Brian; and loving great-grandchildren, Braden, Ryan, Rachel, Nicholas, Chelsea, Ryan, Joseph, Jessica, Sean, Sydney, Gavin, Andrew, Shane, Jacob, Nicholas, Colin, Paul, Trent, Christopher, Nicholas, Connor and Logan. Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, and its Altar & Rosary Society. Mildred was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who was the epitome of love and selflessness. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held that evening. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. David S. Peles, celebrant. Committal, St. Charles Cemetery, Twin Rocks. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred's memory may be made to St. Mary's Church/School Fund.
