Westover, Joseph Edwin "Ed", 89, formerly of South Ebensburg, passed away Wednesday evening, January 5, 2005 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community, Dalton, Ohio. Born April 3, 1915 in Cherry Three, son of the late Walter and Esta (Brothers) Westover. Preceded in death by first wife Sara Jane "Peg" Peffer in 1945; second wife Bertha "Aunt Bert" Townend, in 1996, and brothers and sisters: Lydia, Harriet, Paul, Leroy, Virginia, and Anna. Survived by children: David Westover and wife Brenda, of Wooster, Ohio; Clarence Leroy "Lee" Westover, and wife Jean, of Orrville, Ohio; and Janet, wife of Gary Emenheiser, of York County, Pa. Also grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas, and Joe Westover; Melissa Boggs, Adrian, Jedidaih, and John Emenheiser, and six great-grandchildren. Brother of Zanetta (Russel) Ackerman, Tallmadge, Ohio; and Kenneth (Junita) Westover of Wooster, Ohio. Ed attended school in Beaverdale and was employed at various coal mines in the Beaverdale and Portage area. Known as "Pappy" to many friends and co-workers. Employed by Lawrence Sherbine Ready Mix Concrete, Wilmore, Pa.; PenDOT, at Ebensburg; and as a bus driver for the Central Cambria School Systems. Ed owned and operated a dairy farm located south of Ebensburg for forty four years and was also employed as a manufacturers sales representative for various agricultural products. He attended the United Methodist and Christian & Missionary Alliance Churches in Beaverdale. Friends will be received from 7-9 pm, Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, and from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown.
